KAKEHASHI STORY
KAKEHASHI means BRIDGE in Japanese. KAKEHASHI was established with an aim of acting as a bridge to facilitate inflow of expertise and capital into Myanmar in the field of real estate development and construction.
KAKEHASHI was founded in 2012 by a group of Myanmar engineers, some of whom returned from Japan when the then government started economic reforms after decades of isolation.
KAKEHASHI was formed with a balanced mix of local experience and international expertise. KAKEHASHI has its own in-house design, construction and property management arms and this helps its real estate development business grow in a dynamic and organized manner. This also enables it to strike a balance between quality and cost.
KAKEHASHI focuses on development of high-quality residential buildings in good locations of Yangon. KAKEHASHI always strives to deliver the best quality and value to its customers and also to set good examples for the local construction and real estate development industry.
In 2015, KAKEHASHI participated in a joint venture with two Japanese firms to develop a serviced apartment intended for Japanese expats. In 2018, KAKEHASHI formed a joint venture Tama Home, a major Japanese house maker to jointly develop high-end residential properties in Yangon.
With the help of Japanese technology and capital, KAKEHASHI aims to bring itself to the next level. KYAW MYO LYNN
FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR
Kyaw has a civil engineering background with a master degree from University of Tsukuba, Japan. At the same time, he has extensive international real estate investment/development expertise and financial knowledge as he worked for Shinsei Bank and Bank of America Merrill Lynch for over 7 years. As a risk manager based in Tokyo, he was involved in real estate equity investments, non-recourse loans, CMBS and non-performing loan businesses in 7 Asian countries including Japan, China and India.
Kyaw spent nearly 15 years in Japan and returned to Myanmar in 2012 amid the country’s positive political and economic changes. In the same year, Kyaw founded KAKEHASHI with some of his close friends. With a unique and balanced mix of engineering, real estate and financial knowledge, Kyaw has grown KAKEHASHI into a reputable and responsible real estate developer and is steering its ongoing rapid growth.
